Privacy Policy
Effective July 13, 2026
The short version
YouGoodAI never stores your family's AI conversations on our servers, and we never ask for your family's sensitive personal information. Chat history lives on your family's own devices, under your control. What we can't see, we can't leak, sell, or share — and we wouldn't anyway.
What we collect, and why
- Account information. Names and email addresses for the account owner and invited family members, handled by our sign-in provider (Clerk). This is what makes accounts and invitations work.
- Safety events, not conversations. When a safety rule acts on a request, we record metadata: the time, the AI provider and model, which rule matched, and the rule's own matched term. We do not store the conversation itself.
- Approval previews. When a request needs a guardian's approval, a short excerpt (up to 200 characters) is stored with the approval record — a guardian has to be able to read what they're approving.
- AI provider API keys that account owners choose to add, encrypted at rest (AWS KMS). You can deactivate or replace them at any time.
- Feedback you send us through the in-product feedback tools.
- Basic site analytics. Our website uses cookieless, first-party performance analytics (page views, errors). No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics cookies. Signing in sets the cookies strictly necessary for authentication.
What we deliberately do not collect
- Conversation content.Chats are processed momentarily in memory to apply your family's safety rules, then passed to the AI provider. They are stored only on your family's devices, where you can delete them at any time.
- Health information. We do not detect, categorize, or report health-related questions — at any level of detail. (The one exception: imminent-safety concerns such as self-harm, which our default protections treat as safety events.)
- Profiles of your children. No behavioral advertising, no cross-site tracking, no selling or sharing of personal information with anyone, ever.
Where conversations go
YouGoodAI sits between your family and the AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic). Messages pass through our safety pipeline in transit and continue to the provider, whose own privacy terms govern their processing. We don't keep a copy.
Children's privacy
YouGoodAI exists so that parents and guardians can supervise their children's AI use. Child accounts are created only by the account owner — a parent or guardian — whose set-up of the account is their consent to the minimal data described above (a name and sign-in email). Guardians see safety events and broad topics, never their child's conversations.
Who helps us run the service
We use a small number of service providers, each receiving only what their job requires: Clerk (sign-in), Amazon Web Services (hosting and infrastructure), Resend (delivering notification emails), and the AI providers you connect (processing the conversations themselves). We do not sell or share personal information with anyone else.
Retention and deletion
Conversation history is on your devices — delete it in the app whenever you like, and signing out of the mobile app clears it. Safety events and account records are kept while your account is active. To delete your account and its data, email us and we'll take care of it.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Stored API keys are encrypted with AWS KMS. Access to production systems is limited to the operator of the service.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new effective date and notify account owners by email. Questions or requests: support@yougoodai.com.
